With the recent release of Google Gears, there is a real possibility of making Django applications available offline.

The goal of this project is to port certain portions of Django to JavaScript, for use with Google Gears. In the end, a Django application will be available to automate part of this process, as well as a framework for tying in custom JavaScript code to fill in the gaps that can't be automated.
